The main alloying elements of 6061 aluminum alloy are magnesium and silicon, forming Mg2Si phase. In addition, it also contains a certain amount of manganese and chromium, which can neutralize the bad effects of iron. Sometimes it also contains a small amount of copper or zinc to improve the strength of the alloy, but the copper content will not exceed 1.5% and the zinc content will not exceed 0.25%.
